Above All

Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began

Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth

CHORUS
Crucified
Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

Footprints In The Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

This is a beautiful poem that I hold dearly to, especially when I am down. It reminds me that my Lord is always there by my side, and will not put me to any test(s) that is beyond what I can take...and when necessary He will even intervene for me!

(You can read more about the background and author of this poem >here< )

As it is written in Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV), let us persevere with what we are pursuing. Rejoice when we score victories, yet look up to our Lord and do not grow weary or lose our hearts when it appeared that we may have been defeated.

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Recently I came across another version of this poem which provides a brand new insight:

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the beach together.

For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures and returns.

For much of the way, it seems to go on like this. But gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, and soon even paralleling His consistently.

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it was even worse than the beginning!

Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints!

You are amazed and shocked. And so you pray:

"Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But you walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with you."
"That is correct."

"And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in your steps, following you very closely."
"Very good. You have understood everything so far."

"So...when the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like you in every way."
"Precisely!" said Jesus.

"But, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints then separated, and this time it was worse than at first."

There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.
"You didn't know? It was then that we danced!"

Let us dance with our Lord in the new year!

Two fellow in a ship (Great fellowship)

Had a chance to fellowship with Ernest this morning during our wife's morning prayer . Though know him as a brother but its always those hi and bye fellowship , but i thought this morning's fellowship with Ernest was great especially get to find out about his daughter Pamela's health condition. Literally , she was a regular in KK hospital since the age of two due to intense asthma problem , in fact , she was hospitalised 6 to 7 times last year ! I saw Ernest feeding Pamela Asthma medicine , dosage was 8.5 ML per bottle ! and yet when i talked to Pamela this morning , she is such a joyful child , inspite of her illness ! I totally impressed by her attitude towards life.

Brother Ernest , if you happen to read this blog , i just want to encourage you , definitely is not easy for you and your wife to juggle with Pamela's health condition , i will be praying for her Asthma condition and continue to be strong , Courageous and cheerful.

As for me , i am totally grateful to God that my two girls are healthy , that goes the same to many of us , lets thank God for that.

Fireproof Trailer and Song

Awesome movie and great song! We are going to have a great time watching it during the marriage workshop and learning from it!

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Getting Old !!

I will be 40 years old this year (2009) !!! , as i was born in 1969 !!

Time flies !! Many people says when we reach 40 , it is a sign that we are really getting old and bald !! Look at my hair !

And there is also another chinese saying : "Men 40 like a dragon , women 40 like a worm" . Pray that in year 2009 , I will be like a dragon that will lead my family and the zone into greater heights.

For those brothers who are born in yaer 1969 , haha , do jump in the wagon and join me in the 40 years old club .

For those who are born 1970 , 1971 , 1972 (i know there are many of you) , don't laugh , your turn is coming !!

For those already 40 plus or 50 (like derrick , sai ying , tony , kevin ?) , no wonder you look like a dragon , still strong and healthy !

Cheers ! have a good weekend and see ya tomorrow morning for the father's morning prayer at 9 am.

QT

Matthew 3:13-17

This is the beginning of God's great plans for Jesus to be born and be baptised by John the baptist , preparing the way for Jesus to start His ministry on earth.God appeared to Jesus as soon as Jesus was baptised to encourage Him.And for God to send His belove son on earth to help man is something God wants to do , eventhough He may not feel like doing it , as Jesus is His only beloved son , but God still keep his promise to send Jesus on earth to save all of us.

God spoke again during the transfiguration : "This is my son , with him i am well pleased" , the same words that God mentioned when Jesus was baptised by John the baptist.

Again , God express His love for Jesus , whom we all crucified and refused him on the cross. And for God to send His only son to die for us on the cross , God loves us as well.

Let's take some time to look back at 2008 , count all the blessings God have blessed and love us , i am sure you will be overwhemed by all the blessings . Inspite of a turbulant world that we are in now , we are still in God's team.

Amen .

How can you refuse him now?

Jesus was not well received by His own people, he was mocked and sneered at, even crucified. This physical pain and emotional rejection is not something we can comprehend easily.

Our acceptance and salvation came at a great price. So now that we have acknowledged Christ's sacrifice, what is stopping us from following Him?

Thanks to Chee Wan's sharing, I get to enjoy this simple (yet beautiful) song written by Hank Williams. Trust you'll like it too :)

There's a story old, that has often been told,
Of how our savior died, as they nailed his hands,
He cried they don't understand,
As the blood flowed from his side.

(Chorus:)
How can you refuse him now, how can you refuse him now,
How can you turn away from his side,
With tears in his eyes, on the cross there he died,
How can you refuse Jesus now.

As he hung there on the tree, he prayed for you and me,
There was no one his pain to ease,
Before he died, he faintly cried,
Father forgive them please.

(Chorus)
